As a child who grew up with asthma, I know the difficulties of having weak lungs. There was ridicule at times amongst my peers whenever I had to use my puffer and straighten out my glasses at the same time. As such, partaking in Climbing the Wall for BC Lung Foundation on March 24 and climbing 48 storeys of the Sheraton Wall Center downtown was a worthy cause I wanted to partake in. I was especially inspired by the brave and strong men and women of the YVR Fire and Rescue team who will climb in full PPE plus SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus). It is an honour to be in their company and I can only look back and enjoy my "dress up" days as a YVR Fire and Rescue personnel (as seen in the photo) during YVR Arrivals (aka new hire orientation).
